Wanted: My old 1984 MB 300D diesel sedan

Hi group, I am trying to track down my family's 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D turbo diesel sedan in Anthracite Gray Metallic over tan leather. We bought it new in 1984 in Atlanta, GA, where it was sold in 1994 to a woman in Marietta, GA. Long shot but hoping to find it and restore for my father. The last 8 of the VIN are EA081492

If you have any information or leads, please let me know. Text/call me 423-401-8416 or email support@seconddaily.com

Hello - I would post this in our Mercedes Forum, Peach Parts. You'll get a lot more eyes on it there.

25 years is a long time ago. Did you do a Carfax? That will give you some info if it’s still on the road and where.

yeah, it's definitely a long shot. I ran a quick mycarfax and nothing showed up at all, a full run is next.

Just an idea but maybe you could get an identical one and tell him that it’s the old car, kind of like when a little kid loses their cat and you find one that’s really close at the shelter and tell them it’s Muffy?

They did sell a grip of them, so it’s a solid plan. Good luck.

I'd kind of like my 1985 300D back. It's the only car I still dream about. So classy. So refined.

haha, that is a good backup plan.

Breakthrough today, I found the daughter of the lady who bought it. Daughter is alive, mom died a few years ago. So fingers crossed that takes me somewhere further.
