Pet Ghosts?

We've had a few ghost stories on PPOT over the years. This one comes to mind: https://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/1023027-do-you-believe-ghosts.html Are ghosts somehow the remnants of the soul of a deceased person?

And we have a lot of pet lovers on this forum. (And to keep things straightforward, by pets I mean the typical cats and dogs.) As pet owners we certainly think our pets have souls, by the ways they interact and bond with us. So how come no stories of pet ghosts?

Cause I don't want you guys thinking that I am crazier than you already think I am.

Bet me:D

My guess is simple: They give us their all here, have no regrets. That, plus the toys and chow are better in Dog Heaven.

No Ghosts...but I often dream of loved ones who have passed...people and pets both.

Answer #!: That's my thought, they get to keep their soul because it makes the afterlife that much better for them, and they deserve it.

Answer #2: Pet ghosts? Yes, they exist, but it's not a pet's lost soul trying to find it's way, it's a pet's soul actively coming back to spend the afternoon with you.

Correct Answer: Pet's souls get reincarnated, duh. Samasara yo. You'll meet your lost pet later in life, some kid that runs in front of you at the grocery store.

If I dream about dead former pets tonight, we're gonna have words...

I thought that I shared one such example in the forum, but it must have been at least 10 years ago.

My neighbors cat called Lambert died about 15 years ago, and was buried in the backyard of the house next door. The couple that owned him moved out about six months later and rented out the house.

Both my wife and I could feel a cat walking (typically left to right) across our feet in the middle of the night, the way Lambert did with his owners. We knew the cat well as my wife used to babysit for them (and also kitty sit) and we would have dinner over there once or twice a year.

Ghost kitty is what we called it.

Oh, if you opened your eyes the ghost kitty paw prints would stop instantly treading across your ankles.

My wife and I would often wake up at the same time feeling the ghost kitty - and we would talk about it.

This went on for 3-4 years, and would reoccur typically when one of us was sick or ill.

When i gpt Bentley he would be sleeping on the other end of the sofa in the evening. Every once in awhile he would jump straight up in the air, jump off the sofa and would be barking at the spot he just left?

It was as if something had nipped at him..i thought that it could be my previous dog Zoey???

Who knows?

I went to the funeral for my favorite uncle a few weeks ago. For a few hours, around 150 people crammed into a church remembered him and the feelings were very intense. The next morning, I woke up thinking that my cocker spaniel poodle mix was sleeping on my stomach like she used to at night. The feeling was very real and very strong. Out of nowhere, since she passed in 2015. It was as if a bridge to some sort of spiritual world opened up during the funeral, and my beloved little dog found a way through after waiting for me for 4 years.

I would consider those dreams as "visits".. about a year after my Dad died i had him in a dream that was so real I could smell his after shave. we hugged and he told me everything was alright and that he was happy but missed me..

yeah I believe it was a visit.

every once in a while I see Willie our dead cat out of the corner of my eye. Of course he's not there when I focus.

now if my ex wife starts showing up I don't know what I'll do....maybe write her a check..
