F9 trailer
A rocket engine strapped to a Pontiac Fiero
A fighter jet with a built in magnet to intercept cars An SUV swinging from a mountain by a rope (which doesn't break) What more could a movie-goer want! I saw the first two in this series...that was enough. ![]()

Teenie boppers must have a TON of "willing suspension of disbelief" these days.

Like a Rolling Stones tour, the franchise is too big and no one in charge wants to leave oodles of money on the table, in spite of the fact that the premise has become ridiculous.

As ridiculous that the trailer looks...I would guess this movie will do well. Having John Cena in it will give it new life.
Not the type of movie I would pay to see.

I work in a profession where we have assistants (usually young early 20's female, sometimes early 20's male), who have japanese cars they have fast and fur(y)iotized.
The guys would modify their own cars. The girls, had boyfriends who modified their cars. I enjoy busting on them to no end. One had some narrow profile tires that would burst and bend the rim on every pothole. Another had over tinted windows that would get them regular tickets. One had a fartcan exhaust which you could hear the 1.6L furiousity? from a mile away. Her "dream" was (not as I suggested - to get the original exhaust back on) - her dream was an official honda aftermarket exhaust, not the el' cheepo one her boyfriend had installed. One had some cool rear window graphics. One put a v-tec engine into a regular car, which grenaded in short order. Oh.... the memories. ![]() I've never been able to sit through more than about 3 minutes of any one of the movies- but- That movie franchise is very influential (to say the least.) edit- I do have a respect for the locals who turbocharge their imports. They have an ambitious sense of engineering, and it's fun to look at what they've done. It gets back to the "do young kids still like cars?" types of threads....If they are forward thinking enough to install an intercooler- they have my blessing! It's fun to pull up in the SC, and then spend 15 minutes checking out their cars! Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 02-01-2020 at 05:54 PM.. |
