He hates computers, and is such a curmudgeon, he would eat ppot posters for breakfast.

And about a month ago- I had this great idea, I'd get him his FAVORITE car magazine subscription.

AUTOWEEK! He says....

PPOT says... Discontinued.....

So I think-" He likes Vettes, how bout a 'vette'" magazine?"

Vette.... Discontinued.
Mustang.. discontinued.
things with V8's...All gone. (according to the ppot articles)

SO? What's left? He's a big bore V8 american iron type of guy. He loves corvettes, and even owned a grand national when it was the biggest and baddest.

I like AUTOMOBILE, it has a good range of articles, a good range of cars and not usually too political. It has less advertising per issue than Road and Track and Car and Driver. Road and Track is usually a full 1/3 advertising plus they seem to get political more.

Grassroots motorsports is still going and was/is the best car rag around. Honorable mention for racecar engineering but that is for eggheads and is expensive.

Thanks all... He really likes anything with big displacement and straight line acceleration, but not to the point of drag racing/top fuel type stuff.

He is very polite to acknowledge p-cars, yet will (call me) and let me know every time one loses to a vette.

He loves the hellcats, etc... He claims he drove a lingenfelter 1000 hp corvette back in the day. Who knows?

That was my thought too, but I'm fishing for ideas, and he's more stubborn than you and I combined. He makes TABS look like Richard Simmons.

I might do a magazine AND an Ipad for Autoweek/etc...

Automoble is gone. Motor trend, R&T, and Car & Driver seem to be still around.

But for how long?

Hot Rod is one of only three or four Mags left published by them. Automobile, Popular hot Rodding, Street Rodder, gone. Car and Driver has a new format that is almost unreadable, Road and Track is hanging in there. Car Craft, gone.

There's the Corvette Magazine that's from the same publisher as the Excellence Porsche magazine.
It's set up almost exactly as the Porsche magazine.
