Saw this movie today.
A very good crime movie that has a non-stop hectic pace.
Adam Sandler was amazing. I never thought he would fit in a movie like this...He killed it.

It is a really good movie..2+ hours of intensity..

The movie has a lot of 'The Godfather' feeling to it....I think.

60 minutes did a segment on Mr. Sandler. He has done well for himself. Believe they said he is worth over 340 million.

I never liked Sandler as a comedian. He is much better as a dramatic actor.

Nice to see 84 year old Judd Hirsch in the movie.
Always enjoyed watching him in 'Taxi'
Seems impossible that he is still working/acting...he must love the job.

Sandler is quite the enigma. He can create some real crap, or knock it out of the park.

I tend to prefer his more dramatic roles like Funny People and Reign Over Me so I'll be seeing this soon.

Sandler is worth over 400 million I believe. I think he makes commercial content to make money, and takes on dramatic roles that appeal to him when they come along. I like him when he is dramatic, quite a good actor I think.

I enjoyed it but it was hard to watch and after a while you knew it wouldn't end well.
It's certainly well made and the look inside Jewish life was interesting.
What's up with the ritual at the dinner table? I've never seen that before.

Gambling addiction must be horrible for the people connected to the gambler.

Julia Fox looked great and the girl can act but she's recently admitted to working as a dominatrix so Hollywood wont take her seriously.

She may make another movie or two but she wont be around for long.

The Safdie Brothers Break Down the Passover Scene in ‘Uncut Gems’

"The Passover sequence, centered around one of the holiest holidays in the Jewish religion, gives audiences a brief opportunity to relax in a film that’s otherwise rife with tension. It’s a fleeting, unfettered look at what a normal life could look like for Howard if he wasn’t hellbent on risking it all.

The Safdie brothers stuffed the scene with nods to Jewish culture, including reciting the 10 plagues, reading the Haggadah and searching for the afikomen, a stashed piece of matzo (flat bread) that’s found for a reward.

Passover, which commemorates the Israelites’ freedom from slavery in Egypt, helps illustrate the suffering of a putz like Howard. But the Safdies attest it’s a coincidence they landed on that particular gathering. That’s because timing happened to intersect with an NBA playoff game set in 2012 that proves pivotal in the film. “It’s one of those creative fate situations,” Josh Safdie says."
