Here are 2 safes I just recently sold as I am moving. They were made by Wilders Patented Salamander Safes Water St. New York City. First one is just the keyhole about 1840 and the larger picture is the same model about 1845.
I have in my closet a 1930s Diebold that I have had for about 40 years. Not restored but still in service. There were several other but I have moved them along over the years. Safe collecting is not only heavy work but a lot of real estate. I was a lock/safesmith for many years before I worked and retired from Schlage Lock. I love those old safes and working on them.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1576712681.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1576712738.jpg Terry |
