Ah, but it wasn't the Henry, nor the Winchester, not the Colt that "really" won the west. It was the air rifle some 70 years before Henry, Winchester or Colt. It was the air rifle that Lewis and Clark carried on their 1803 expedition.

Correct, an early repeating rifle.
The AR of the day.

If you don't plan on keeping ammo at home, please buy some snap caps so you can load and cycle the action.

Congrats on becoming less of a Subject and more of a Citizen

Thank you Jim, i just may do that, did not realize one could do that,

I beg to differ. ;)

I love Lever guns. I need at least two more levers, one in .357 Magnum and the other in .44 Magnum.

Interesting this thread popped back up today. Just looked at a Winchester 30/30 Serial number 2591855. Any idea of year and value?

That looks like a VERY late 1963, pre-1964.

Mr Robson. You need to buy some ammo and visit a range.

You may regret never using it.

A wise man told me that when you look back on your life, you do not regret the things you did, you regret the things you did not do.

Thanks Red beard. Snuck in before the change. That's good. I know a lot of information goes into value but in general an original good condition no noticeable issues modifications would have what type of value?

An ambitious but scary restoration... But this rifle was junk so why not?

(Skip to the last 3 minutes to see the restored rifle)

Those Browning B92's are nice. I had one in 357, never should have sold it.

Tabs would have a better idea. I bought my 94 in 30-30 (1948) about 10 years ago for about $700, from an estate sale.

Purchased an old Scabbard for the Winchester

Purchased an old , leather Eubanks Pioneer Scabbard Idaho,
really nice condition, to protect my 94-30-30 Winchester,
not cheap to buy these days in nice condition.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1598630454.JPG

DO NOT STORE THE RIFLE IN THAT CASE...leather holds moisture which will cause RUST!

Tobra 08-28-2020 08:47 AM

I would find a nice display rack for a pretty rifle like that one and dust it regularly, case would be okay for taking it to the range

Chuck Connors was not 6'7", but I think he did play for the Dodgers for a few games.
