Did you believe in Santa ?
I just found out he's not real... totally blindsided . My wife's family never did Santa. I probably believed till I was 11. My oldest son made it about that long also .
I am really looking forward to the next few Christmases with our now 2 year old son. "Tanta!" My wife thinks its corny, but plays along. She feels as if was all a big lie. I have memories of it being somewhat magical.

Yeah man, I believed in Santa.
And when you see Winnie the Pooh talking in a live action movie it messes with your head. |

When my brother and i started not believing i was maybe 7 or 8 . My parents made footprints in ashes coming out of the stove we had in the living room. That was pretty cool. I guess that stretched it a while longer i remember looking for the prints the next few years but they wernt there.

I was about 8 when an older kid told me it was BS. He laughed at me when he saw the look on my face.
My parents always made a real effort. They were Euro WW2 babies so they felt really lucky to be living & raising a family in Aus. Both were born in 39 so they remembered the war. The Red Cross packages they received made a real difference.

Took the Georgetown Loop Railroad (Colorado mountain town) ride to see their Christmas light display last night.
A family was setting across from us in the train car. The one boy was, guessing, 10ish. Sort of the upper age for believing, and then Santa came through. I can assure you, you could see in the boys eyes, for the 5 minutes or so that Santa was talking with him, he was an all in, wide eyed, believer. Was nice to get to see that.

I was a skeptic for many years. But this year I received a mysterious package the says “do not open until Christmas”. It must be from Santa, and based on the return address Santa lives in leonardtown Maryland.

I was a precocious little kid. I was told when I was little, I was at the Carpenter's union Xmas party with my grandpa. Sat on Santa's lap and said, "You're fake because Santa isn't real." The guy was shocked. I think I was maybe in 1st grade.

JRR Tolkien left letters from Santa to his kids on Christmas. They have since been made into a book, Letters from Father Christmas. It was a continuous story about the goings on at the North Pole. There were 20-some years of letters. I wish I had know that when my son was little. I think it would have been fun to do something similar.
I always found more magic as a parent watching my son get so excited for Santa and Christmas than I ever remember as a kid.

Sure I believed in Santa my parents did a good job of stating he was real . I don't remember what age I realized he wasn't real but the spirit of Santa lives on in me to this day . While there isn't this magical guy with a reindeer driven sleigh going house to house there is the spirit of Christmas/Santa . I'm not talking from a religious stand point , I'm talking about just trying to be kinder/gentler and more sharing . I tend to try and give a little more around this time of year to local charities to help those less fortunate than my wife and myself .
I think if you carry the spirit of Santa from womb to tomb your life will be a pinch better overall . Watching the faces of my three grandchildren on Christmas morning brings a smile to my face .

I was about 8 when I found the Santa suit in a trunk.
Now I do my best to carry on for the old guy. Funny how life turns things around on you. Best Les

I was all in until about 11 as well. My parents were very generous with their time and resources ( not just presents per say) to make it magical. So much so that even as I aged into the teenage years they still kept it going.
As an adult found my inspiration to do for others especially little kids to keep that magic going.

I do. I also know why Santa never had any kids. It's because he only comes once a year and that's down the chimney.
