Bug ID Request...
Found a few of these guys in the house lately (mainly in the owners bath). The house is coastal SC. Bug guys have been called.
Any idea what it might be? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1577578180.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1577578180.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1577578180.jpg |
Body shape of the Box elder, but the snout and feelers are different.
|
If it's the "kissing bug", then they bite humans, are nocturnal, and the damn things can fly. Can be deadly too.
|
Agave Snout Beetle. But it looks like there are some others that are related.

It is the ugly bug!
|
Follow up: Since we just sold our house and I was asking my bug guy for a CL100 inspection next week, I sent him a picture. He says it’s a weevil. They eat flour, bread, cereal, etc. so it looks like tomorrow’s task is to go through the pantry/kitchen and toss all the weevil food out.
Edit: the bug is only 2-3mm or so long. |
