If you have time, this is the giant department store Bazar de L'Hotel DeVille on the Rue de Rivoli, This photo is at Christmastime. Great shopping.

a cathedral walking tour would be a great idea

Starting at the top of the hill above St. Germain

Basilique cathédrale de Saint-Denis

Then relax in a sidewalk cafe with a sancere and an espresso. Later, jazz at Duc Lombardshttps://ducdeslombards.com

I'd be on the internet right now booking some dinner reservations at at least a few of the better restaurants in Paris. You're not going to get a seat at a great restaurant by walking up to the door at dinnertime.

Rodin Museum is very nice, and usually not as crowded as the Louvres.

Place du Tertre where all the artists paint stuff

Les Bouquinistes is book sellers by the Seine, 3 minutes walk from pont neuf.
unlikely that you'll buy french books, but it's just a nice area to walk

Agree with the Musee d'Orsay over the Louvre either way buy a Museum Pass and you can skip the long lines. Don't do the Eiffel Tower unless its a guided tour, again you skip the lines and cool information but once was enough, climbing the stairs to the top of Arch de Triumph was fun great views too. What I enjoyed most was just walking the city sitting in the cafes and people watch. My daughter was there over the New Year and someone was on strike that effected transportation but she used Uber instead.

Von,

Versailles is one of my wife's favorite places in the world. But, that is not because of the palace (which is spectacular). She is thrilled and enamored with the gardens. Unfortunately, if you are going in March, the flowers won't be out yet.

As others have recommended, I agree that you should stick with Paris for this trip. There is so much to do there and you don't need to take a day trip to Versailles.
