OK...It's safe to come out now!

This is less than half of them this am. By the time I took the pic, most were across the road. Good sized turkeys!

Wild Turkeys are pretty cool. We have a flock at the family farm.

Best thing? A couple flew up and knocked apples down for the flock. You haven’t seen happy until you see a turkey with an apple. |

They are all over my neighborhood. The city has organized egg oiling volunteer events to try and keep the population in check. They block traffic and have been know to descend from trees onto moving cars, scratching the paint on the hood/top.

Aound here the boys were in a group and occasionally tussling with each other, and the girls were grouped together. Not they're all together, so I guess something's going to happen.

I think they are smarter than they appear. I often come up on a group of them on the roads and they always slowly open a path. It's like they know exactly how far to move...and that's it.

A few years ago here, there were two tom turkeys that dominated a small bridge over a creek where people crossed on the way to work. They'd strut in front of the cars and hold everybody up. People put up with it for a long time, until some ********* ran over one. The other one evidently got scared & disappeared. People put a memorial on the side of the road near the bridge in memory of the turkey that got killed. It was there and kept up for about three years.
