NY Senate MPH Alert

I pasted a copy of an e-mail..........Ron

The New York Senate recently passed a bill (S01690 sponsored by Senator
Trunzo) that would allow the speed limit to be raised to 65 on any "state
roadway" and make the 65 mph speed limit permanent. The state speed limit is
currently 55 except on limited access highways where the legislature has
explicitly authorized 65.

The fact that this has passed the Senate is extremely heartening. Please
take the time to write to your Assembly Member and ask that they support
this bill when it comes to the Assembly.

You can find your Assembly Member's contact information at
http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/

Best regards,

We have 65 here in CA, but that still doesn't stop me from my "everyday" rush of 100-125. Not kidding, I need my speed.

Calif. may not have the fastest roads in the US.. but they do have the most powerful motorist voting block in the US.. an example is when the Caif. motorist didn't like the salt used for snowed roads.. the last I heard is that the motorists forced the state to use some expensive anti-snow stuff. the beef was about the detremental effect of salt on their cars..
driving in Oregun's super slow roads is depressing.. and in Montana the high road speeds is relaxing. kinda part of the culture.. that hit me when I saw packs of socker moms crusing at 90mph with a full load of kids.. east of the Mississippi sucks..............Ron
