Porsche 550 Spyder replica build!

Sources call this replica a success, and state what helps its case is that it is based on a tubular chassis. However, a new body was then added to mimic the appearance of a real 550 Spyder. Everything was completed within 4 months.

What's under the hood may or may not come as a surprise! It's powered by a 2.0L Subaru WRX engine that comes packed with 350hp, over 400hp if you're wanting more power on E85. The entire thing weighs in at 680 kg (about 1,500lbs). It's RWD and complete with a 4-speed manual transmission.

Watch the video below for complete details.

Yeah, Vintage Roadsters makes a nice kit. That is a neat little car, saw that video a week or two ago.

Very nice build, but that Subaru motor always sounds like it's misfiring to my ear anyway.

Hate the video screen on the dash where the tach should go. I feel that he pretty much misses the point of nostalgia.

Yeah, NOT a replica.

Cool gear shift knob.

Overall it looks good and the colour combo is great but the wheels are just too damn big.
That and the Subaru motor.

People have been building powerful and bullet proof air cooled VW motors for decades!
Yes they can be more expensive but there's a lot of money in that car.

There's something about the body that just isn't right and the wheel make it look terrible.

That’s become my trademark. I have a thing for the checker pattern. From my Vans to the tattoo on my left arm.
