Waiting for iPhone SE-2

Just had to go down to the garage to get my phone. The damn iPhone Xr is too big for my pockets so I keep it on the console, and forget it there every time.
Will the SE-2 happen? There have been rumors for months.
My 5s got so bad I had to replace it about 6 weeks ago. I didn't like the size, but I got a Xr because MrsWD has had so much trouble with her smaller model 8.
After 6 weeks I really don't like the size - it's just too damn big. It's not handy to carry it in any of my pockets and I'm not going to start carrying a murse for it. The whiz-bang features are alright, but it doesn't have anything I was missing with my old 5s. A 4 inch phone with edge to edge screen and up to date OS would be perfect.
I'm hoping Apple sees the light and starts making an SE-2 type phone soon.

The new SE should happen soon, however it will likely be on the chassis of the Iphone 8, so a little smaller but nowhere close to the old SE / 5S chassis. That chassis is dead.

If you are interested I have two 5s iPhones I am going to sell. They were my phone and my wife’s phone. We upgraded to the iPhone 11.
Send a pm if you are interested.

Current iPhone sizes, Xr (6.1"), 11 Pro (5.8") and 11 Pro Max (6.5"). (only reason that I'm aware is that we just upgraded our phones yesterday)

I saw a couple of things earlier today saying that a smaller iPhone is coming (this fall).

The 2020 iPhones will feature major updates, introducing some of the first design changes that we've seen since the iPhone X was released in 2017. We're expecting four iPhones in three display sizes which could come in at 5.4, 6.7, and 6.1 inches (x2).

Rumors suggest the 6.7-inch iPhone and one 6.1-inch model will be higher-end OLED devices with triple-lens cameras, while the 5.4 and 6.1-inch models will be lower-end iPhones with dual-lens cameras and a more affordable price tag. All iPhones in 2020 are expected to feature OLED displays regardless of price.

At a rumored 5.4 inches, the 2020 iPhone 12 would be the smallest iPhone Apple has released since the 4.7-inch iPhone 8. At 6.7 inches, the 2020 iPhone 12 Pro will be Apple's largest iPhone to date.
I had an iPhone 6 Plus which is the same size as the biggest phone now (but much smaller screen because of the button and bezels.

Pretty much every big wireless company is still selling the Xs which is the same size as the 11 Pro which is a 5.8" screen, but smaller than the Xr.

My iPhone 6 Plus (with a case, so bigger than your phone) fits in the back pocket of all of my pants easily. I do take it out before I sit down.

When my Iphone 6S died, I went this route for $89 on Ebay: Kyocera DuraForce Pro E6820 32GB Rugged Military Standard

Swapped the SIM card and I was up and running in a few minutes. About the size of my old 6S

Gave my 8+ to my daughter (huge). Got an XS in it’s place and about the size of. 6. Easily fits pockets, light, etc. Just a thought.

The Xs is about 1/3 of an inch smaller than the Xr. I didn't get the Xs because it was $150 - $200 more and I don't need the fancy camera. I should have gone for it anyway.

Just get a fliggin flaggin apple watch and you wont have these problems! And the call quality is pretty good. I can't tell when my friend or my kids are talking to me on their watch.

The missus and I just ordered XS for ourselves (arrive Thu).

T-Mobile has the XS 64GB for $699 which is, I think still about $100 more than the XR, but a pretty good price considering the OLED screen.

I have an 8S for my personal phone and it’s the perfect size. My work phone is an X and I find it too big for my pocket. I would love a compact form factor iPhone that easily fits in my pocket and has a physical keyboard.
