Well, this was interesting - (to us)
Nothing earth shattering or profound here. Just something we found perplexing.
We were watching a British TV show on Netflix called "The Repair Shop." It's a reality show about this place that supposedly will fix any old thing. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1580333558.jpg MrsWd start pointing at the TV. "Look - Look!" http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1580333614.jpg "Mmm, Sweatheart, it's a bald guy and woman who talks funny looking at a clock." "NO! Look in the background. Doesn't that look familiar?" http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1580333711.jpg Sumbich, for some reason a British TV show about fixing junk has a road sign hanging on the wall that came from just down the road from us here in Ohio. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1580333772.jpg We used to pass by this sign on a weekly basis. We are wondering how and why a version of it got into a repair shop in England and then onto a TV show about the shop. I can see a Rt 66, or 101, or Ventura Highway sign - they're famous. But who the hell ever heard of Rt 235 except a bunch of Ohio farmers? |
I live about 20 miles from Ohio 235. It dead ends at the Maumee River where we go camping near Grand Rapids.
|
who sent the sign in for repair?

Probably used as wall decoration in a cafe posing as an American diner. Quite a few such places in the UK, even a chain on highways called OK Diner( actually I patronise these, to break up long journeys).
|
I am 9 miles west of 235. I have traveled on sections of it many times. Looks like it starts in the Dayton area heading north and terminates at the Maumee river.

It's a great show. That guy Steve is amazing with the clocks along with the guy who repairs music boxes.
