My first theater set
 

I've been involved on our local community theater for years, mostly back stage and sometimes on stage. When I was asked to design the set for On Golden Pond, I thought, why not? I think it came out pretty good, if I do say so myself. We open Friday night at Coastal Repertory Theater in Half Moon Bay.

Did you get to budget a Chris Craft for the outdoor scenes?

Thankfully, the whole boat crash scene in the movie doesn't exist in the play. That was a silly Hollywood addition. Good thing, since our lake is painted onto a wall.

As you know, us show-biz people like our Porsches. I even have James Dean's car!

That set looks GREAT and a terrific representation of what I'd like to see based on seeing the movie a few times.

Last night was opening night and wow, what a great show. The actors were truly better than Fonda and Hepburn. If you live nearby, I recommend it highly. Spend a day at the beach, go to dinner, and see a fine show. What could be better?
