I assume that 99% of driving done by 99% of the public is <200 miles.

Why plan to catch the 1% if it's not necessary?

TV is wall to wall with ads (AKA “propaganda”) for things I wouldn’t buy. This I want.

Was talking to some friends of mine here who were considering either knocking down and rebuilding their home or a re-model. Ran into contractor friend of mine who quoted them - said it's $400K to do option #1 and $100-150K for option #2.

They elected to just keep their home as is.

But I was thinking......if you bought a nice fast Porsche instead for a lot less $ - instead of the home remodel/new home thing - wouldn't that make you happy enough?

I mean think of what a $50K budget could get you.

I got the email today from Porsche offering the "sneak peek" at the Big Game commercial. Since they are not an official sponsor - they can't call it by the official name.

I’m confused. How does this relate to the Taycan?

I actually laughed out loud a couple of times.
Great commercial.
This is a car I want, but certainly do not need.
Still want one though.

I expounded on the concept of having a nice new Porsche.

Yes, because you can live in your car but you can't drive a house.

Good commercial. Thanks for the link.

IMHO, it would have been nice to see a 935 in the chase, but I know the Marketing folks are trying to emphasize the newer street cars.

Speaking of the newer street cars, what’s the deal with the blue car (992?) with the elevated shift lever? It got more screen time than anything else. Can’t find anything that closely resembles it.

When I watched the commercial I thought that was a rear hand brake for drifting - Not a gear shift lever.

I dunno about that. East coast freeways are full of people driving a lot farther than 200 miles.

It is a hand brake. Motor Trend channel has a 30 minute documentary about the making of the ad.

That is the best commercial I have seen in a long time. Maybe the best ever. I mean, a superbowl commercial with air cooled 911's and a 930?.
It almost makes me want to watch the superbowl, almost .
