Bathurst 12 Hour

Great race on an iconic track.

Practice, qual, support races, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OToIUK76P8I. Support races include historic races with many Porsches. Great stuff.

Race starts in ~9.5 hours.

Anyone know how to watch the race? Google search says it will be on fox sports but after much searching on fox sports, fox sports south, FS1, I don’t see it scheduled. Anyone else finding it scheduled to show today?

Sorry I'm late answering but these are the sorts of races that make Motortrendondemand worth the $5 per month... I watched the entire 12 hours on and off... They have a lot of mud-truck-grease-monkey-redneck-crap shows but they also have some really good shows (ignition, head to head, ant anstead master mechanic, all of wheeler dealer -you coudl waste a month there, all of top gear) and tons of racing series including bathurst both for GT cars and V8 supercars...

Australia V8 supercar is pretty cool too, porsche supercup isn't bad, etc... And as a reminder to all Pelicans, Redbull TV (app on phone or ipad) has a 45 min WRC daily summary for free, a few hours after each of the 3 days of a rally. $5/mo for motortrend, $0 for redbull... That leaves F1 and we're home free ;-)

I watched the entire race (except for short nod offs) on YouTube.

Wonderful event if you ever have the opportunity to get there in person. The people are marvelous and so welcoming. Much of the track is walkable and the pits/paddock/garages are very accessible. Starting in the darkness is very memorable.

Would love spectating but even more would love driving it. Do you know if the track is permanent or not ? Is it ever open for track days or driving schools ?

It is a scenic public road for most of the year. It is closed for a select few track events such as the 12 hour of the 1000k Supercars. There is at least one track day of sorts:

I believe that the track has stayed in racing configuration for an extra few days after a race (rather than reverting quickly back to public roads) to support track events but not sure how often that happens or for whom.
