IMO Gambling is a tax on stupidity

I’ve heard infidelity ruins the past b/c what you thought was true wasn’t, and gambling ruins the future b/c the gambler wipes out retirement savings. (Usually in secret.) Gamblers also have a much higher rate of suicide attempts than any other addictive disorder, probably b/c even were they to quit the damage doesn’t go away.
People suffering from either have my sympathy.
