Car shipping companies?

I am buying a car out of state and looking for recommendations on shipping and general how to's from those that have done this before.

How do you manage the payment transfer, is there a right way or best way to approach this?

Shipping, who have you used to get your new toy home safe without getting gouged to badly. ( I have to keep my wife happy

I had mine shipped in November 2017 from Albuquerque to my home. I used Motor City Transport and paid 1200 bucks for enclosed trailer. I had initially gone through a broker who arranged with Brett from MTC. Brett called me immediately and gave me the pick up time, in transit time, and met his delivery time within an hour. My car was a non runner and had to be winched into the trailer....sometimes that is an extra.

I had a 911 shipped from midwest to LA. 1300 cash on delivery, covered truck. Worked out great, but high anxiety.

As I road into work this morning I saw an open, stacked row car carrier on the frwy. The top car in front had the hood swung back against the windshield. Another car had windows open. Probably a sooty, waterlogged, moldy mess.
