When I was a young kid, my dad had a buddy who owned a mountain lion (I would say "cougar", but I know you guys too well...). The damn thing stayed in the house, had free run of it, slept on the couch, and all of that. When my dad would take us over to his buddy's place, we would play with his kids, and the mountain lion. Never thought much of it, but we were pretty young.

He also had a big old Saint Bernard. When we came over, it was put out in the back yard. We were forbidden from going out there. The guy was afraid the dog would hurt one of us.
