I have been using Windy.com since someone here had suggested it.

Will check this out. Thanks.

How is this more useful than the basic weather sites?

LWJ 02-22-2020 09:21 AM

Super cool!

For someone that's content with basic weather, it's probably not. For folks that are interested in more than the basic weather, it's probably very useful.

I use Windy as well.

I'll dick around with this site (thanks Rusty) and if it is better than Windy I'll shift my usage.

I am a complete weather geek, btw, so more is better.

For the phone, I like the "MyRadar" app. A few bucks gets you the "no ads" version with everything you could possibly want. Worth checking out the free version at least, IMO. YMMV.

Very nice. Thank you.

I also use Windy, especially when we've got a good storm going. I like to look at the swell size off in the Atlantic and be thankful my feet are on dry land :). This site looks pretty cool, and similar to Windy. I'm a bit of a weather geek, so I'll check it out.

Windy here too.

I bet the surfers would appreciate the wave count and wave height features!

What is an example of more than basic weather that I need?

Crowbob 02-22-2020 01:59 PM

A looksee out the window is a basic weather forecast. An interest in more involved weather includes rain or no rain, sun/clouds ratio and temp.

The ulitmate most basic 'Weather' for most people is the hottie on local TV just before high school sports.

Windy is ok.

I use Radarscope for storm tracking. I think it is 9.99 a year for the pro version.
