Anyone know the story behind this wreck?
Looks like a good roll over, recent too judging by the cars in the background.

Aftermarket fuchs? They don't usually break like that.

it is also possible those Fuchs were chromed..I remember seeing in the 1980`s a 911 wreck in CA where 3 kids died due to the chrome rims. Porsche had to do a big investigation on that..conclusion was the chroming compromised the integrity of the Alloy rims..

Just looked at his IG. Looks like that wreck was 2018. He subsequently got a replacement red 911 that broke a rod that punched a hole through the case, which he has since repaired.

That's a shame. Wonder if it got fixed? Would make a good race car.

Looking at the roof only a very dedicated (and uninsured) owner would fix that car!
But there would be lots to salvage from it. With a bit of luck the engine and gearbox may be OK.

No, he got an insurance check and bought a replacement 911 a month later.
Everything is in the IG page, including a few more pics of the wreck.

My thoughts exactly. I've seen hundreds of damaged factory wheels but never broken like that. That center on the front is scary.

which canyon did you go down...glad you are fine to tell about it..on your pic we can see the rims have different strength than the above chrome rims...

In both cases the A-pillars on the cars did their job preventing roof collapse and protecting the occupants. Sound engineering and they will live to drive again.

Looks like a job for Garage Los Ponchos! Ted's 356 was banged up like that at a race in Palm Springs and the made it better than new! Took two months of welding and hammer work.

Looks like the first car in the OP flipped over in the middle of a 4 lane road. The car doesn't appear to have other damage apart from that so was this a single car accident ?
If so, how ? |

Ok, can't believe this hasn't been said so many posts in: "Good tires, certainly not great tires" .....also no one asked how much gravel was on the road due to poor county maintenance...
