I have to top of my G-IV with one of those every 3,500 miles between oil changes. Seems excessive to me but the factory claims that a barrel every 5,000 is still within specs and they won’t do a warranty claim. Next time I’ll get something ugly but good from a Japanese manufacturer. Maybe a nice Mitsubishi.

That's over 400 pounds of very high quality synthetic bearing grease.
I believe it's also water resistant. Need to confirm. And it's made in the good old US of A. You can get a small tube of it from amazon for $34. I've been using Slick-50 grease for more than 20 years in all of my cars... I bought two tubs back then and the second one is still sealed.
No complaints and I use it for everything.

Gotta have a very squeaky wheel to get that grease. But you know the manufacturer will make greasy profits. And once you buy that, it becomes a slippery slope.

okay. on a serious note. what is the delivery method when someone buys a tub of grease like that. you spoon it into grease guns? or is there a tube you insert into that big vessel? that cant work can it? grease is not flowable.
i dont get it. please explain, PPOT brains.

I have no idea....but saw a documentary on aircraft carriers, and how much grease they went through keeping the "stopping chains" (technical stuff...my version
) each day was unreal....Uncle $am can afford the good $tuff....so mebbe something like that? |

Either or, you could scoop it out into smaller pails (dumb) or use a pneumatic grease gun on top of the babarrel.
Onlliest time I've ever see that in person was with 5 gallon pails, never 55 gal drum. But I ain't seen everything either.

Dunno if that is a grease pump or oil pump, can't tell from the pic fer sure.
This is what i've used before and it'll get most of the grease by the time it's done.
