I wound up Velcro-ing them to the dash. Sounds about as good as it’s going to, I think. Pretty decent on the kind of music I listen to, not so much for newer stuff w lots of bass. They are decent/mediocre speakers but they were cheeeeeap. :)

Sorry we missed you this weekend.

I am not hiring you to do stereo installs on any of my cars!

tweeters should go up near ear level. The need to have a crossover. And +1 you need an amp, and a deck that allows some fine tuning.

Sorry I missed you as well!

Definitely not hiring myself out for any stereo installs, this one took me a ridiculous long time. I hid the stereo in the glove box so that the original, non-working Becker still sits in the factory place looking pretty. Now the car has tunes, including an auxiliary cord for iPod or phone hook-up. The tweeters may not be the most elegant solution but I was adamant about not drilling any holes or screwing anything onto the dash or doors, etc.

The head unit:

That would not be possible in this application. It sounds very decent, not quite as good as the factory stereo in my newer cars but very acceptable. And the x-over is in the wire, as pointed out a few posts back.
