The Question begs — COVID-19

Who is the first to report here they are sick? Not me (cough, cough).

Based on the current distribution of the virus in our country, chances are one of our Northwest Pelicans.

I am in a flyover state so that is a positive.

The bad news is I live next to Ft Sill that has a rapid turnover of foriegn troops and basic recruits. They have 7 on quarantine now. Currently no symptoms.

I'm in the PNW, not me.

Guy at my kids grade school? Yep.

I was supposed to be in Seattle today at a large 300-400 person class.

I skipped it. Drinking wine with Mrs. LWJ and biking with my son.

Did you see what happened at the NBA game in Oklahoma City last night.

Some silly game with overgrown men playing with a large ball brought diseases to the heart of the city.

I think a better question for 'right now' is what do you do if you start to feel symptoms?

At what point do you head down to the place where sick people die and get tested? Do you just self-quarantine and ride it out, or what?

A couple of days earlier the guy that tested positive, Rudy Gobert, mocked the coronavirus by touching the mic and table after his meeting with the press. It is on youtube.

I'm way out in the middle of nowhere, not likely to have many strangers come around. There was a "big" tractor pull in town last weekend that brought people from outside the area.
My son works at Boston University Hospital. Granddaughter goes to BU. When she left for spring break she was told to take classes from home until further notice. Boston has a few cases, but the health care people there are concerned.

A. Make sure you have a thermometer in the house - do that now
B. Take your temp. If it's over 99.5 call doc
C. Follow Doc's orders

Isolate yourself, try to remember where you’ve been, if/with whom you’ve been in close contact for the last few days and call your physician to get instructions.

Over here (Belgium) doctors are starting to do consults by telephone.
If you have cold/flu symptoms, you get 7 days of paid sick leave, over the phone.
I wonder how many people suddenly started to cough...
Crazy times.

I'm more concerned about losing my retirement funds than about getting sick.

My whole family has been sick for two weeks now. Low fever floating 100-101. Swollen glands and could barely eat for almost a week. Then glands went back to normal but got itchy throat, lots of mucus, runny nose and middle ear infection. Down 10 pounds. Tested neg for flue. No body aches but no energy, sleeping all day. Mostly better now but still 99 fever, coughing and ear still infected. 3 and 5yo better and bouncing off walls. Mommy mostly better, just a lingering cough.

There's a guy at work who's had three days off because his son got tested after having some symptoms and it came back positive. He's waiting on the test results for himself. Based on those results everyone at work including me will have to get tested.

(The son was on holiday in Malaysia and he lives with his parents. He's since been isolated in hospital.)

Sounds like everybody's getting their action plan together, which makes a lot of sense. But if you're in a hospital with the virus then who's going to be taking care of your family, pets, etc 2 to 4 weeks? You'll have to assume they are also quarantined. That's a lot of TP and old t-shirts.

I saw your thread. If it helps you wont loose it. At some point things will return to normal.
IMO things will be back to normal before your November elections.
