Maryland schools closed for two weeks

Using a one week spring break plan to ease the difficulty.

Feel badly for working parents who have no way to work and care for their kids. My wife is a teacher so we'll be fine. On the other hand i'm self employed so i've got to be careful as the money stops when i stop.

Ohio schools closing for 3 weeks. Just got notification today.

School districts closing in NC too.

Going to be interesting for the next few weeks with employees staying home to watch the kids during tax season.
They can work via remote access if they are able depending upon taking care of the children.

6 weeks in King, Snohomish, Pierce counties in Washington.

Houston (and I'm sure many/most of the suburbs) announced this afternoon that they are closed tomorrow, spring break week, the following week and the following Monday.

I think this triggered some insane grocery store runs by folks.

Have you heard anything regarding make-up days? Between the lack of snow days and the "take-home packets" I think they'll be fine, but it would be unfortunate to repeat last year's summer.

My wife moved our usual grocery trip from Sunday to last night. Spent 45min in line, but was able to get everything we actually needed. Local friends that braved the Costco reported MASSIVE lines.

Loudoun county closed abruptly yesterday at the last minute. Which I was surprised as there were no pre-warning or heads-up. The plan for them is closed until the following Monday.

Fairfax county schools followed suit this morning almost no warning. They had already announced
Monday schools will be closed. I'm uncertain about the remaining next week. BTW I work for Fairfax county, a large part of our division supports the schools vehicles.

Harford County is half-day on 9 April. So that's ~2.5 days they can recover out of 10. Making up 7.5 days has school finishing 19 June. So about the same as last year.

Good thing we didn't get any snow this year.

My college campus is closed for spring break but has extended it into April. The local grade schools are still open.

Fulton County, GA (Atlanta) announced they were shutting down at midnight last night..."Until further notice"

PA schools just announced that they will be closed for at least two weeks.

Yes, as I understand it. The governor made an announcement late this afternoon.
I imagine private schools will make their own decision. My daughter's catholic school in Philly is closed for two weeks as well.

LAUSD now closed, starting Monday.

My eldest son's school (private) has been closed for the past week because one student had symptoms and was being tested/quarantined. Student has tested negative as of today, but campus will still be closed, with classes being done online for the next couple weeks (until spring break).

Well, at least at my son's HS, they are holding classes at the regular times--just online. We'll see if it works (will the teachers take attendance?). But it's supposed to be like a regular school day. Just at home and possibly in your PJs or underwear.
