It is starting - Internet is slowing down

Internet access is having intermittent slow downs. Even my business, which is supposed to have special dedicated cable modem access, because I pay 3 times what it is worth, is slowing down.

Home is suppose to be 250 down/5 up. Business 50 down/10 up. I am getting 5-10 down and 5-10 up on both.

The Home link has now improved to 50/5 and the business has returned to normal 50/10.

No Sports, supposed to stay home, wife/girlfriend doesn't want to have sex, so everyone gets on the internet.

Is the true apocalypse occurring? Will we lose the internet?

I’ve actually noticed spotty internet at my house, didn’t think about the cause. If internet gets slow, we know it is truly a crisis! How will I watch Contagion, The Hot Zone, The Andromeda Strain, etc?

There's something up for sure. Faceplant has been acting up all day.

full speed here
did you pay your bill?

Last I knew with cable you were fighting for whatever bandwidth the infrastructure could support between your house/buisiness and the gateway out to the world and your actual "purchased speed" was put into effect at the service point/gateway. And of course, you'll never go faster than the slowest point in your whole route.... So if the line you are on can support 1000gb of traffic, and there are 10 of you on it and you each buy the 150gb dedicated plan...

With DSL, it is a direct to your service point with no contention until you exit the gateway to the rest of the internet.

Quit whining. You should be out shopping for toilet paper anyway.

For my house, that is my understanding. But on the business, it is supposed to be dedicated bandwidth, for which I pay far too much...
