Corona virus fatigue

it can't last much longer, can it?

I mean the fear mongering... it is over the top.

I thought I was safe when I checked the weather - even the damn weather sites have CV stories (good news, it dies off faster in warm climate)

Anyway, I'm sick of the hysteria.

I suspect a lot of parents of grade-school kids must be pretty pissed that their daycare went away.

The hysterical reaction to supplies is getting old too.

sammyg2 03-14-2020 10:15 AM

as long as they get the power they seek, it'll all be worth it. (for them).

island911 03-14-2020 10:15 AM

yeah, I suppose some can't get enough of the hysteria.

Every problem has some winners

You might lack iron. Go see your doctor.

island911 03-14-2020 10:23 AM

lacking irony?

yes, I get it. ...yet ANOTHER stupid CV thread. I'm adding to the absurdity by calling out the absurdity.

RWebb 03-14-2020 10:35 AM

this thread belongs in PARF

There is apparently a psychological effect from this virus. I have never watched any of the zombie shows on TV, but I suspect it is not too far from what I saw at the grocery store this morning.

Thread will be just fine in regular OT if a few certain someones can control themselves

Absurd people doing absurd things. It is hard to believe. I want some popcorn but I do not want to go to the supermarket. :(:(

Por_sha911 03-14-2020 02:45 PM

I was about to find the thread where the question was asked who would be the first PPOT poster to get sick.

I would have posted I am SICK of everyone talking about the virus 24/7. It sucks that the NHL and Indycar are suspended. I have some extra time now but I really want to talk about something without covid, pandemic, panic shopping... in the conversation unless someone I know is sick.

I want to encourage folks to do what we gotta do and get back to living life again.

red-beard 03-14-2020 03:02 PM

I've seen this before, when we have hurricanes. But the hysteria dies down after the storm.

RWebb 03-14-2020 03:08 PM

hysteria? or just a rush be people who were too busy/lazy to stock up early?

I am not seeing any hysteria here, which is odd considering how crazy the locals went over Y2K

I'm not seeing fear mongering at all

Great news! There may yet be time to catch a nearly empty flight to Italy or Spain.

Captain Ahab Jr 03-14-2020 03:23 PM

There are going to be some amazing flight deals

I hadn't planned on a long haul family holiday this year......

Seychelles, Mauritius, Japan, Peru there will be so many choices ;)

I concur.

Was talking to a patient Friday and they said you could take a trip to New Zealand for under $600

Gretch 03-14-2020 03:43 PM

I concur.

I disagree. The one offending should be removed and the poster warned and/or punished.

Imagine how long the return lines will be when all this is over and people have a 100 year supply of Lysol and toilet paper left over

Had a patient the other day telling about her father buying a garage full of TP for some "crisis" and was giving it away to his family for the rest of his life. Literally a lifetime supply for his whole family

That is a lot o' TP
