I plan on using this time of social distancing to work on it

Love it! A reflection of a time when the USA mood was optimistic...believing that things could only get better.

What service does it need?

35 gallons of gas to get to the next station.

rfuerst911sc 03-14-2020 04:23 PM

It's as long as my extended cab dually pickup ! Nice looking car have fun .

Tobra 03-14-2020 04:43 PM

Almost far enough from the front seat to the back to qualify for social distancing.

390 6 pack, nice. I bet that thing makes enough torque to pull a house off its foundation.

Gretch 03-14-2020 04:44 PM

does all that fancy equipment still work?

herr_oberst 03-14-2020 04:50 PM

Timely. Last Thursday I was walking in my neighborhood and someone had set this baby on the curb with a 17k price tag in the window. It needs TLC, a complete spit and polish, but it's straight, and I couldn't see any rust in the obvious places. All the surface candy was intact, the interior was unmolested. I went home and actually thought about owning it... It was gone a couple of days later. It's a '58.

Just fluids, air up tires, drain tank, fill with fresh fuel , check no speedometer, a few interior light bulbs etc. Supposedly, its going to Barret Jackson in a few weeks . If they don't cancel that.
I cant wait to drive it . I was like backing a trailer in my shop . Fires right up and idles smooth as glass . Sounds really healthy . . Ill take some motor pics for you and better interior shots .

Seems funny, I would never own such a car but I do love the artwork. I guess I am an old car junkie. Old cars just get me going. I went to 2 Mecum auctions last year and am thinking about a couple this year. Not to buy or sell. Just to see the old iron.

Only two, does that include a queen size mattress so they will be comfy?

A wrench with an eye for old Cadillacs? I imagine you would get along swimmingly with John Walker.

If you also happen to like the Grateful Dead, you may have been separated at birth. :D

The 59 Caddy was not popular back in the day.
It was just too over the top and was considered to be in bad taste..That all changed by the 80s when the Japs fell in love with the gauch.

wdfifteen 03-15-2020 12:54 AM

I wouldn’t call it beautiful but it sure is eye catching!

sc_rufctr 03-15-2020 02:18 AM

I love these cars. They represent the best of the US... Optimism and success. :)
