Truck seat/seatbelt question
I have a 2001 GMC 3500 dually diesel with front split bucket seats and console . On these GM trucks the seat belts are incorporated into the seats . So if you remove the seats you also remove the seat belts .
I have a chance to purchase at a very reasonable price a pair of Recaro seats . I am not concerned about adapting the seats/sliders but what to do about seat belts ? Does anyone know if this era of trucks has mounting bolts/nuts hidden for more traditional lap/shoulder belts ? If not what options are available ? Any of you done a similar swap ? If it matters the existing seats are plain manual seats no electronics involved. |

Seat Belts Plus has a lot of aftermarket seat belt options. They probably have something that will work.

GM has been using a cab based on the van body for a while now for Class 6 and 7 trucks, but back then they were still using the C/K pickup cab, so would have the same cab as your 3500. Generally Class 6 and up have air-ride driver's seats and I don't think I've ever seen one of those that had an integrated seatbelt. So I would expect the usual anchor points to be there on the B-pillar. Besides, it wouldn't make any sense to build a certain subset of cabs without those points.
