Actually, for a literbike, that took an eternity to get through first gear. Not impressive at all, the rider sucks.

For you pros critiquing 1st gear, it sure appears to be a long gear.... Not sure of the gearing specs on this bike, but plenty have been produced over the years with a tall first to allow closer ratios for the balance of the stack. After all, the bike was going 100mph at the time of the 1-2 shift.

Cheers

Modern literbikes are geared fairly tall in first. Most can hit 90-100, some go higher than that. That's nothing new, it's been like that for 20 years. Still, any of them should do 0-60 in 2.5 or 2.7 seconds and 0-100 in 5 or thereabouts.

Maybe he had all of the electronic nannies running and they killed the party. It kept the front wheel on the ground in first and second, something none of my bikes ever did.

Dad's XKE would go 70 mph in first. It was not super quick off the line, but would do 150 all day long
