Hilton Refunded My Non-Refundable Prepayment
Booked a hotel for Spring Break next week. Pre-paid in full with a non-refundable payment to get the best rate. Hilton issued a new policy that they will refund such payments in light of Coronavirus.
I will gladly book with them again when this all blows over. I like to call out going above and beyond when I see it. |

Classy way to handle their customers.

Lots of travel related business are doing this. Nice to see them standing up and doing the right thing during this time.

Excellent.
I have been a Hilton Diamond Member for a long time. We booked non-refundable rooms for my sons graduation from law school in May. I called and asked Hilton if his school cancelled the graduation do I have any recourse. Refund. They’ll see me again. |
And I will not be using PriceLine again, or their travel insurance...

Great example why I’ve been a long time Hilton Honors member. Delta is doing similar right now, as are most major airlines and travel companies. Times like this are when you can build customer loyalty by doing the right thing.

^ Yup me too. I do a lot of business with Hilton Homewood Suites. Whenever I have relatives and business come from out of town, they are my go-to hotel. They are not pet-friendly, so the backup is La Quinta Inn.

Had something similar a few years back with Fairmont Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, the wife was not felling good, turn out to be bronchitis.
I call to say that while I knew that it was non refundable (which the operator mentioned that unfortunately it was) but I told I just called to say not to expect us and they could put it back on the market. Without a call from them, 2 months later it was totally refund. Told the wife that it was my charming approach... She almost lost her supper as in http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gif :D:):D |
My son has his ski lessons at Mount Norquay and it usually the first mountain to close in the spring.
I had purchased a discount card from Sunshine Village ski resort and hadn't used it as of yet. Emailed them yesterday morning and heard back yesterday afternoon. They will offer a refund or credit on all unused passes and accommodation due to their early closure from Covid 19. Need to email Lake Louise as I have some day passes for both me and my son there. |
My neighbor's sister had a trip to the South Seas planned for June, along with some friends. When the virus first began to appear in the U.S. and it was only suggested that people refrain from travel, the friends cancelled their trip and received only 40% of their expenses as a refund. My neighbor's sister, one who is never going to lose her money, refused to cancel. Yesterday, she finally did and received 100% of her money back plus an additional $500 credit to be applied to future reservations.
