Yep. Governor Jelly Bean has so proclaimed.

Oh, and Governor Jelly Bean has old Rod beat on one thing. Rod fell under FBI investigation based on actions he took on his first day in office (he tried to shake down Edward Hospital). Jelly Bean was already under FBI investigation before he ran for governor.

Toiletgate!

I am glad that he is so concerned about us and is decrying the shortage of federal $$ help. If the feds don't come thru, maybe he can bring a billion or so back from his offshore accounts and help us himself.
Looks like he has gotten fatter in office. More chins than a Chinese phonebook.

I thought he was pardoned by the POTUS. Is that not not pretty much the end of any convection. He is a free and clear like it never happened. Or is that not correct?

Yes, that's correct - however, IL is under a stay-at-home order as of last Saturday evening, which is what makes the joke.

His sentence was commuted by POTUS. Originally 14 years; he was released after 8 years. He is still a convicted felon and will be reporting to a probation/parole officer. Must find a job and no more politics so I believe lobbying is not an option.
Personally, I think he deserved the commutation as 14 years seemed excessive, even for a dirtbag like him. Especially when compared to the sentences of our previously jailed ex-governors; Otto Kerner. Dan Walker, George Ryan. Probably will not be the last in a line of distinguished IL politicians to do time. Not that we have a corruption problem in the home of "The Chicago Way" or anything.
I met him at a party when he was a state rep. Shook his hand and then checked to verify that my watch was still on my wrist:)
