I caught part of that race too.

At another forum, we having been picking F1 and Indycar/CART races to watch at specific times. Indycar is the 1995 season, for example. The last F1 race was Luxembourg 1998. Its fun to watch the old races again.

This past Sunday I watched the entire 1986 Richmond race. Racing (nascar anyway) was so much better back then without these modern sissy's complaining about a vibration or some other weak excuse. These gentlemen drove the damn wheels off their cars. If a tire was rubbing they just kept going until a caution or it blew out. Real men, real racers.
I hope they have another one on this coming Sunday ! |

starts full wet, track dries. They show some pit stops to change tires from the day.

Long Beach '79. Happened to be there for this one |
Lots of early drag racing and motocross available, too.
(Connie Kalitta drove a Funny Car? Who knew?) |
Lockdown TV: Chassy - Channel 585 on Pluto TV. I just became aware of this and it is fantastic. Maybe better than the original Speed Channel? It's owned by Adam Carolla. Yesterday I watched History of the 911, History of the BMW M3, great documentary about 4 guys from the US traveling to the Nurburgring and Spa for track days, Senna vs Brundle, etc. This morning is the History of BMW in the German Touring Car Series. It's all free, just download the Pluto app.

Via YouTube, watched the full commercial-free 1986 Australian GP yesterday. F1 was soooo much better back then. Season ender with several still in the running for the championship. Mansell had it sewn up late and then blew a tire. Prost won making it 2 in a row for McLaren-Porsche. I remember watching that race live. Watching the 1996 Monaco GP now.

Fox aired the 1988 Checkers 500 from Phoenix International Raceway. Boy has that track changed over the years. The dog leg was all dirt.
