I bet a tz250 would be a hoot there
You must be bored.
Its called the underdog kicking butt (or skillful rider). |
Its so cool that you can see that lil' skinny front turning right a little even though its just one giant left turn. Not seen too often
This was discussed a while ago, let me see if I can find the thread..
I can’t find the thread but this explains it... it’s like horse racing, a betting sport in Japan. The bikes only have two gears also, one for the start and the other for the race... like NASCAR the turn great one way...

That's some kind of giant Herman Munster-looking crash suit.
That's be good riding skills, that be.
Look how far off the seat he’s got himself positioned in the deep turns - center of mass control counts for a lot more than a fancy bike... basic fundamentals.
Doesn't seem to sell out the stadium...
Looks like Kenny Roberts to me.
That was some awesome riding
Three different types of motorcycles, the one designed for left turns only wins a left turn only race, no surprise in that.

The "real" bikes are simply unsuited to this kind of a course. I bet a Speedway bike on slicks would be the hot ticket. This bike is kinda sorta like that. |

I am thinking stunt and they advertised the "famous guy" to draw a crowd? Maybe a practice session before the real thing? |
It might have been an exposition, as they race those crazy looking bikes as a means of gambling.
I agree with Jeff, it set up for this course, could you imagine trying to turn the other way with those handlebars? |
proof that skinny tires work.
I bet the skinny tire bike is much easier to control at the limit. Were they running tighter turns and really leaning down I don't know how well he would have done. I wonder how he would do at the Isle of Man.
