When did "exponential" become an adjective?
This board is full of Maf geeks and shoe watchers....does it bug you to hear it used this way?
Screw the dictuonary :D |

....and another one
dithering ;) |

-ial
adjectival word-forming element, variant of -al (1) with connective -i-. From Latin -ialis, in which the -i- originally was from the stem of the word being attached but later came to be felt as connective. |
Dang Latins...we should've bombed their country for messing up exponents ;)

my mother always used it growing up, actually she used the word logarithmic. I had to get to college before I figured out that I think she meant exponential
I.E. "they are putting up houses in that new neighborhood at a logarithmic rate". Close enough for mom math I guess. |
Maybe he doesn't know what adjective means?
