What is this plant?

We got this plant a few years ago, but can't remember where from or what it's called. It was supposed to be drought tolerant, but it really, really likes water. Once we realized that it grew like crazy.

Anyone know what it is? We'd like to get some more.

My wife thinks, only a guess at this point, some form of Euphrobia or Dracaena.

Me?

Green Plantis Gardenus.

Our local nursery to the rescue! It's a variegated form of Echium fastuosum called Star of Madeira. Here's what it looks like in bloom. On closer inspection, there's a little tiny flower starting to form!

^I remember that movie, they had just won the lottery, bought some Triffids, and then all hell broke loose. Only by returning the lottery winnings was the curse lifted.

I don't think you are taking this threat seriously.

Thank God, I was sure it was a mutated form of poison ivy or maybe artichoke - both despicable forms of botanical evil in my book.
