Internet news programs and volume levels of commercials
 
Since I'm working from home I have been watching news programs on CBS, Bloomberg, etc and for some reason the commercials are 2x louder than the rest of the broadcast--annoying as HE(89LL! Any way to alter this?

No practical way of doing it. The FCC did make rules to address this. Maybe your local station needs to be reported as a reminder.
