2020 Pelican Parts Virtual Car Show! Win Up To $750 Gift Card! ENTER HERE!

2020 Pelican Parts Virtual Car Show!

Do you miss participating in car shows? We certainly do! With events getting cancelled or postponed left and right, we thought we’d bring the car show to your living room… or garage!

Introducing the 2020 Pelican Parts Virtual Car Show! Complete with a chance to win prizes for each category, including a $750 Pelican gift certificate for the Best In Show.

This interactive event will make you feel like you’re out with your buddies, showing off your newly completed restoration or work in progress while admiring a ton of cars. Did we mention that we’re going international? Our friends from Canada (except Quebec, sorry!) and the UK will have an opportunity to join in on the fun!

Simply post a photo of your car or garage alongside what category you want to be considered for (FYI everyone gets considered for Best In Show) and for some categories, a description of the work you did on the car. We will select the finalists and then let everyone vote for the winners!

We’ll be judging your cars in categories including, Best In Show, Most Original, Best Modified, Best Maintained, Best DIY Project, and even Best Garage! Check out all the details below and enter your car into what’s likely to be the best car show ever! Good luck!

- Submissions Open: April 3, 2020 – April 20, 2020
- Judging: April 20, 2020 – Aril 24, 2020
- Public Vote: May 4 2020 – May 24, 2020
- Winners Announcement: Week of May 25th 2020

How to Enter:

Post a photo of your car, garage, or maintenance / DIY / modification car project to THIS thread.

If there’s a specific category you want to be considered for, specify it with your submission. If you don’t specify a category, we will choose one for you. You can submit one entry for every category, so that would be up to 7 submissions. We will be awarding prizes to the following categories:

Best Car / Best In Show – 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded – judging based on overall appearance

'87 924s

Hello, everyone! I just (finally) joined the forum, although I've been reading it for years now. I have to represent in the 924 category!

Here's "Nina," she's my '87 924S, with about 45,000 miles, in her natural environment, lonely, forgotten back country roads in Virginia, where we blast hair metal and new wave cassettes, on our private Nurburgring. I also enclosed one pic, ready for last summer's Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.

I'm entering for most original, my car is a time capsule of long, late 80's summer afternoons.

Thanks,

Mike

Original 1973 Porsche 911E

Most Original.

60,000 original miles. Original paint. Documented from new with original paperwork, factory air conditioning and factory original 5 speed. Rare black #700 from the factory. Car has been well maintained and all service and mileage is documented from new. It remains mostly untouched with its original MFI system, original interior, original paint throughout. It does have the SS heat-exchanger update. It is a blast to drive on good-weather days. It was a dream to own a 911E since I was 18 years old.

Two submissions, best in show and best garage. I'm sure I don't have a chance, but nothing ventured, nothing gained and hey, we're all bored. Hang in there everyone!

When I did a bare metal repaint a few years back, I shaved (removed) the battery boxes from my 70 911 and relocated battery to the smugglers box. However, it was difficult to access the battery due to the way the lid open and closed. So I reversed the hinges and added a leather strap with snap and two hold open snaps, one for closed and one for open.

This car is a 70T that was updated in the 80ís to the G body style with a kit from Performance oe Automotion as were others. The kits were OEM steel parts. I bought in 92 and did some updates myself like the front rubber strip delete in the bumper.

Sawin' some Zs

As a friend of mine always says, "Get out and drive"...even if it's just to the grocery store.
