Looks interesting but hope the aftermarket can fix that exhaust.

masraum 04-04-2020 12:49 PM

that's a good looking bike.

varmint 04-04-2020 01:03 PM

Had an R50/2 way back. Regret selling her.

Now prices for the old bikes are getting ridiculous. And they were never as cross country reliable as we remember. This looks very interesting. We’ll see what they go for used in a year.

It’s also begging to have a sidecar bolted on.

Chocaholic 04-04-2020 01:27 PM

Seems everyone wants to copy the hind-end from the Ducat Diavel. And yes, that exhaust is not an asset.

Nice pair of jugs.

...somebody HAD to say it. :)

Should be fairly easy with a cradled engine. At least easier than with an engine that is a stressed member.

90 bhp...meh

I am guessing that will go over as well as the last BMW cruiser type bike.

Do miss my R1200 GS though and may pick up another someday.

Well yeah you are right. If a sidecar is preferred then the torque would be more important than bhp and like my '99 R1100S is prolly great coming out of the corners.

varmint 04-05-2020 02:49 PM

i liked the R9T. but didn't need one as i already have an R1100S. a year later i see them selling at near new for less than 10k.

factor in the damn virus and maybe there will be an even steeper discount on the R18. i really like this thing. all i need is patience.

and i love my Ural. but i'm tired of wheezing over the mountain pass at 40mph. this looks like a solution.

Chocaholic 04-05-2020 04:48 PM

As a fellow Uralista, I can sympathize.

cstreit 04-05-2020 09:29 PM

Looks like the Harley “48”

I could deal with it.

Laneco 04-06-2020 09:32 AM

The exhaust is hideous but everything else is just gorgeous on this bike...

I would swing a leg over this in a nanosecond!

One push back is leg placement. Behind cylinders. Kind of cramped.

Not a bike guy just saw it on Youtube today when checking it out.
