Another needless loss of life to a criminal.

Won't someone think about these poor criminals needlessly killed while trying to commit crimes? We need to ban gun ownership!

Damn shame.

Funny thing is, the surviving perp will be charged for the murder of his accomplice even though he was killed by the homeowner.

It ain't funny, it is real justice. The low life pond scum died committing a felony with a fellow low life pond scum as a partner in crime. They are both responsible for their actions, but dead people are really hard to prosecute, so he does not get charged. Just the living one. I hope he rots in jail for life.

I love stories with a happy ending, especially here in Crook County, IL where we gunowners are seen as ignorant, uncultured hillbillies by the cultured elites. Surprised this law allowing murder charges against accomplices ever passed our legislature.
First thing I read in my monthly NRA mag is "The Armed Citizen" detailing the use of firearms to protect life and property.

I'm as happy as anyone at the outcome, but I don't see how that Ill. law can be upheld as it is written in the story. The perp who got away lacks intent and did not pull the trigger. Still, it is a VERY good step in the right direction.

I hope that the homeowner is a family member of some politician who was in favor of nullifying (by one means or another) a piece of the Constitution.

Everyone is against gun ownership until something like this happens to you. Most of the anti-gun politicians (and virtue signalling celebrities ) have no problem with armed protection for themselves.

Not too far from me.

The whole master plan those two knuckleheads had was based on one of them (the dead one) saying he saw $200k in the house, 20 years ago.

The frown in the survivor's mugshot is priceless.

Looks like he just saw his new roommate.

Correction: he just saw the penis of his new roommate 😁

No tears here. Too bad he did not get them both as who knows what they might have done to the family in their quest to locate the $200K.
Couple burbs away from me and a pretty peaceful area.
Doesn't he look remorseful knowing his life has changed and possibly his shower habits?
I believe several states have the same law on the books and not sure if any have been challenged. Not a recent law by any stretch
