good news on gas prices

Paid $1.58/gal yesterday. My dd (Honda Fit) gets 40mpg consistently. Unbelievable that a person can drive 100 miles for less than $4

In my area it’s still over $3. Hoping for sub $2.50. I’m not holding my breath.

Haven't checked lately, but probably same in Oregon. Smog law gas formulas and taxes.

What's a smog law?
If it can go down the road...it's ok here in MI

I wonder when the prices ($1.58) have been this low.
Liking it.

But not so good for the U.S. shale industry. It's over-leveraged and will require government bailouts if SA keeps price down and production up. Or go bankrupt. Ultimately, this could be bad for the U.S. in both economic and foreign policy terms.

LOL. When I started driving and gas was 37.9/gallon I could drive 100 miles for just over $2 in my gas guzzler if didn't stomp on the gas pedal (maybe better but who checked mpg?). With 30 mpg, I could have gone 100 miles for $1.27
Boy that reeks of "back in the day..."

SA has pretty deep pockets.
Driving down the price to shut down higher cost producers.
It is a great strategy.
Sucks for those of us in Alberta.

They tried it once and failed. This happened because Russia refused to buy in to the Saudi requests.

Now they have stockholders in ARAMCO that they must consider.

I would guess...because of not enough usage.

A strong argument for normal gas-powered cars.

National average is $2.281/gal. according to:

https://gasprices.aaa.com/

That's down from $2.447/gal. on 2/29....
