Prayers for some Nova Scotia FFamilies
 

We still don't know what happened. A fellow went on a shooting rampage in rural NS. RCMP say there are at least ten fatalities. They are not certain of the number, as fires were set at several locations. One officer KIA another wounded. Shooter dead.

The guy had a business and several properties. We may never know why he snapped.

This is terrible, so many families hurt by this. That poor officer killed. Awful.

My wife was telling me about this earlier today.
Tragedy for all the victims and all their friends, family and communities.
Senseless.

It's up to 13 now.

This one is a real head-scratcher for me. The locale, the closeness of the community.
A very pre-meditated act of evil. Pure evil.
I hope we can determine a motive and start to piece together a strategy of prevention going forward.

It's hard to fathom crazy evil...

Police are now speculating this was a premeditated action. The shooter had assembled clothing that looked like a uniform and was driving a vehicle taken by some to be a police vehicle. When officers responded,he fired on them as well.

Tabs, thank you for the heartfelt comments. We have firearms up here too, usually long guns. Unfortunately like our friends and neighbours to the south, we also have people who need help. Last year a veteran with PTSD took out three members of his family. We are not immune to heartbreak.

Hard to fathom after working up there a goodly part of last year. I spent a lot of the little off time I had driving all around, enjoying the small tight knit communities.

For those who didn't catch this and are wondering why the number of victims keeps rising
is because, there were 16 or 18 CRIME SCENES! The guy drove around all night dressed as a Mountie in a fake Mountie car stopping traffic and shooting people when he walked up to their car.

Am I right on that Les? It's the way we're hearing it over here.

Information from the RCMP and various witnesses give a scenario such as you described. Since the shooter had three properties in the area, speculation is running along the lines of a carefully planned grudge killing against certain individuals, then turned into random acts of murder as he encountered folks along the road on Sunday morning.

Lots and lots of unanswered questions during this night of pure horror. I feel for those
poor people who were involved with this.

The provider of the car (must have been re-decaled) and uniform might be in a
s**t load of trouble.
