A local place called Race Car Replicas makes a very very nice 917 kit, as well as a 330 a ht40 and a d-type. They are exceptional pieces of engineering.

When I decided to build a kitcar I deliberately avoided replicas because most don't look quite right and the body fittings cost s ton of money .I still have the car, over twenty years later and only use it to drive to and compete in hillclimbs and sprints. It was a relatively cheap kit so I could afford to spend a bit on building a light but powerful engine for its time 22 years ago. The chassis stiffness and suspension design gave good roadholding, so that was what decided me, as some kits have not very stiff chassis and suspension design.

I have had those dreams too.
Ended up with a white 1.2 Polo. But I have 5 kids pointing to the fact that I am hetero. |

Those Lambo replicas are terrible.

I have never seen a kit that wasnt a replica that looked good. Most look like design school drop outs penned them.
