^^^ I think it had to do with the 'sleep' feature....couldn't wake it without powering it off and on.
This one seems much faster than my ink-jet was. Each time I replaced my ink-jet cartridges...it cost almost the same as a cheap printer. Yes..had many clog. Not a frequent printer here. |
I have the same WiFi problem (Canon on a mac) I forget what Canon told me to do but it got better, tho still present. I just cycle power to the Canon once in a while now.

laser, cost per page
they don't foul up nozzles when you don't use em for a while. |
How do lasers do for photos?
|
I have never used a color laser. We got a Brother laser B&W for the office and after several years of being beaten to death, flawlessly pumping out 200 pages per day I got the same model for home. We have probably been through 2 dozen printers over the years and these have been the best by far.

I had an HP color laser in my last job that worked quite well. It didn't have the high DPI that some of the fancy inkjet photo printers have, but i think the prints looked better since they didn't have the typical inkjet streaks. The settings did allow you to crank up the toner usage for higher quality photo prints on glossy paper.
This was a reasonably pricey office model, not the cheaper consumer models you see at best buy. I can't comment on those. |
The one I bought today surprised me how big it was. The box barely fit through the front door.
It's almost the size of a dorm fridge! |
