So what will you do different?
What will you do different after the COVID?
I know I have been toying with the idea of putting more money into the Roth from some bills getting close to paid off, but now I think it may be full bore into the mortgage. Having looked at friends out of work keeping a roof over ones head seems to be the most important and expensive personal issue (along with healthcare). Every other bill you may be able to fudge or live without. The other thing is a larger rainy day fund. I figured the retirement funds could backstop that, but now I am not so sure and that will get its own savings account. |
Tip wait staff even more. Eat out more.
We ate out once per week at a minimum before the China flu. We will likely hit the restaurants even more is the tables are available. And the local owned restaurants. |
Enjoy now, more? There are quite a few stories of people (who aren't particularly old or decrepit) getting sick and dying within 5 days. Here one week, gone the next. Of course that could happen for a variety of reasons (heart attack, ruptured aneurysm, unfortunate traumatic event, etc). But this pandemic certainly reminds me of that possibility.

Buy American made when possible. Ef China.
|
Drive less. Work from home. Become more mobile in my ability to work - i.e: have office abilities anywhere. Work less. Play more.
|
Stress about business LESS, enjoy what I have MORE. And I'm buying a early Bronco cause I always wanted one!
|
Be more grateful for putting away a rainy day fund before I needed it. Also, spend less time in the new PARF .
|
nothing. pretty much live each day to its fullest, help as many people as I can and don't see changing that.
|
I'm going to meet Shaun for that burger and beer we talked about 3 years ago....
|
Will not change anything at all.

i'll never bite my fingernails ever again. or pick my nose.
okay, i'll use a tissue. |
Vote the bastards out that imposed illegal mandates.

Ensure that you've got enough savings to cover 6 months of bills. Pay off debt (credit cards, cars, then mortgage/home equity), may out retirement, then anything extra left over more savings/investments.
|
Remember those things called insurance and taxes. They cost me more than any money in mortgage!

I'm 73, sitting in day 7 in my isolation room. Gonna watch less news, stay out of PARF, and spend more time enjoying life and grandkids. |

more silver in my hidey hole.

More outdoor time, more travel, more remote work (if that’s even possible), more savings and less spending. I’m already pretty good about avoiding Chinese made stuff but will ratchet that up even more.
Oh, and install bidets. Screw this no TP stuff. |
