Another "interesting" police shooting

They don't even bother to enter the house - just shoot him through the walls and windows while he's asleep.

So frustrating that we are just getting the details about this now. The details of the no-knock raid were sealed for 30 days under a judge's order.

Sounds like second degree murder at least.

They are going to lose all that body cam footage

Very odd circumstances...usually where there are differing perspectives, it's the way someone was standing, or facing one way or another.

When you have one story saying the guy was up confronting the police, and the other saying he is asleep, those are wildly different recollections!

If he didn't want to get shot, he should have just complied with officers' commands

If it pans out the witnesses are right, that cop, and any of his brethren that tried to cover, should never again see the light of day. And should go to general population when they get sent up as well.

I believe the lawyer, he'd never try to deceive anyone.

I'm sure the guy asleep was lying too!

Same goes for the prosecutor who reviewed/OK'd the no-knock warrant request, and the judge who signed off on it (if the lawyer's account is to be believed).

I mean, a no-knock issued for a non-violent prohibited-possessor charge? With no evidence other than a "public complaint"? At this stage, it sure doesn't sound like an imminent danger/public threat situation, nor is it a case where "destruction of evidence" would be a concern, which are the primary justifications for no-knocks. Nucking futs...

There is a lot of information missing. I know nothing about this case other than the attached article. Why was Lemp prohibited from owning firearms? Most of the time, it is because the person is a convicted felon or mentally ill. A no-knock nighttime warrant is approved by a judge who reviews the danger level of the wanted person. The officer has to justify why it is safer to serve it during "off-hours" because it is safer. How did the officer shoot Lemp through the walls or window? A lot of questions need to be answered before any judgments can be made. Just my thoughts.

The complaint came from an "anonymous tip".

Who knows if we will ever get to see the body cam footage - I think they all had low batteries or technical issues that corrupted the recordings.
