So I'll play.
Hands are still cut up from replacing the DRL lamps on my Grand Cherokee. Needed to remove the airbox for the driver's side, passenger side wasn't as bad with the exception of the anxiety that comes with fear of dropping something that will require fishing out of the engine splash shield. All in, it wasn't horrible but it shouldn't take 20 minutes to replace 2 lamps that just twist lock into place. It's not as bad as my VW Passat that required placement of the front bumper cover in the service position for a lamp replacement. The worst I've had it so far was a starter replacement on the JGC last year that was 7 hours of labor requiring removal of the front driveshaft and lowering the differential for access. That's 7 hours in the book, assuming use of a lift, compressor and appropriate tools. All things I don't have, I didn't think once about doing it myself. I asked a dealer mechanic friend who does side work if he was interested, he watched the youtube video on it and took a hard pass too. |
