Shaun @ Tru6 - The same thing can be said of so many cars from a few years ago.
In 2009, long before FB marketplace, CL was filled with $1000 SEC Benzes during the clash for clunkers program. I bought a really nice 1988 560SEC for $500 that only required a fuel pump to get it running, try finding a SEC today for $500 today. Or how about the old independent gas station that had three (3) 928 Porsches sitting behind it all running priced from $1000-$3000 with no interest, again try and find that type of deal today. Don't even get me going on Datsun Zs (a car I know you track on BaT)...in the span of a decade or so, these cars have drifted well north of $50k and beyond. Its the life cycle of hot when new...faded out with new model releases...then hot again |
That late w124 coupe is about the most well-made car ever foisted on the motoring public. Unfortunately, it's also about as exciting to drive and look at as a Prius, IMO. And yes, I've owned one but it was a convertible. Talk about a car for old people. I'm old now but I still like the same cars I liked when I was young.

Denis I've had 4 W124s, 2 sedans and 2 wagons. I would never say they are exciting to drive but I love the way they drive. Especially with a few modifications. I absolutely love these cars.

I know, I helped pay for one of them.

I had never heard of RADwood, but then again, 80's is too "new" for me w/r/t collector cars
